Dr. Dejan Paravan is Chief Innovation Officer and leads two main offices: Production and Supply Short-Term Optimization and Production and Sales Portfolio Management, which in total counts more than 30 employees. He received his Diploma Engineer and PhD degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, in 1999 and 2004 respectively. During his PhD studies, he was employed as young researcher in the Energy Policy Lab, University of Ljubljana. After finishing his PhD he joined GEN-I group and started up the retail electricity business in Slovenia. Since then he took several managerial positions within the group, he was member of the management board at Austrian Power Vertriebs GmbH, Wien, Austria, member of the management board of GEN-I group, and CEO of several GEN-I daughters companies. He was responsible for sales activities to end customers and purchase activities from power producers and new business development. Dr. Paravan is member of CIGRE, the International Council on Large Electric Systems.
